Is Tesla Motors' Gigafactory Going To Be Huge?

The auto making giant is planning to make one of the the biggest plants on the planet, as per recent reports.

According to the most recent Tesla news, it emerged as a fact that the auto making giant’s Gigafactory, as the name proposes, is going to be one of the biggest plants in the whole world. This is being said keeping in mind the recent activities of the electric car makers which they have been carrying out in Nevada regarding the establishing of their battery business. As per the reports, the smart car making company is looking towards achieving the goal of building up around 7 blocks on which the battery making plant will be based. Even though at first the term did not seem to make much difference to the analysts or to the industry itself, the images of the recent changes that are being made on the plant have taken away everyone’s attention.

Tesla has up till now managed to build up only one block out of the seven as planned and the images of that ‘block’ has turned out to be quite surprising for the industry. The picture of an over view of the whole block shows a huge factory in itself showing, making the analysts believe that it could actually be true that once the whole seven blocks are built by the firm, it might turn out to be possible that it is the biggest plant on Earth ever made.

Currently, on the land where Gigafactory’s construction is being carried out, it has been informed by the industrial center at Tahoe Reno that the luxury car makers are also looking for another land next to the plant which is of around 1,200 acres in size. By the time the deal is carried out and more land is obtained by the electric vehicle makers, it will be seen that the firm becomes owner of more than a double land of what it currently has. Furthermore, the firm has also decided to buy more land with the passage of time.

Currently, the land that Gigafactory is being built on is of around 10 million square feet. But that is only because only one out of the seven blocks has been built as yet. By the time this project is finished, it is expected that the whole factory will be made on piece of land as big as 24 million square feet, which will end up making the firm the largest one on the planet, based on the data provided by the footprints. All these plans are in line with what Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk has planned for the growth of the electric vehicle industry and usage.
