Twitter Is Leading Video Monetization By Expanding Feature

Twitter Inc

Twitter now offers more to video advertisers and creators by only taking 30% out of the revenue and giving the rest back unlike other social media networks, such as Facebook and YouTube.

Twitter adds pre-roll ads in the videos advertised on its website, contributing to monetization of the work produced by the owners. It is also providing advertisers with the opportunity to choose the content where the ads can be placed and they can put the 9-10 second ads without any need to contact any publisher.

This advertising is done to attract more content by getting publishers through the biggest incentive, which is money. Social media sites have always put work in this department. YouTube has played a part by providing revenue shares from pre-roll ads as well as contract to the top video bloggers in order to stay in the race with the competitors.

Twitter Inc. is expanding the pre-roll ads feature on videos published on its website or applications. This has made it very easy for the creators to monetize their published work. This modification was much needed by the social media giant because at the beginning, when the videos were put up, only the fresh tweet got views and just after five minutes, it was just dead. This made it highly difficult for advertisers to reach the desired content leading to the company to lose potential income as well.

The modified feature allows ads to be inserted automatically as soon as a user tweets the videos. Advertisers update the company about the category of video content to display the ads. Twitter updates its program after finding out what the publishers and advertisers want, hence 80% views takes place within the five minutes of the tweet. In this revenue, the social media network takes only 10% and the rest of 70% goes to the video makers.

This twitter advertising is profitable and beneficial to all the parties involved in the task. In comparison to other advertising platforms, this has much more profit – YouTube and Facebook do not offer publishers as much – and this will help the corporation to attain more content and profit. This will also threaten its competitors. YouTube and Facebook will start the battle for advertising without doubt.

According to BBC, on the other hand, Twitter will take 30% of the revenue generated, while publishers will receive the 70%. This expansion is being tested on a small scale for now in the U.S. with only a limited number of advertisers and publishers, but is definitely intending to go on international level later on.

The new design is built for convenience for everyone. The microblogging giant has already made deals with BBC, countrywide football league, Neutrogena, and many others.
