Colgate-Palmolive is included in Water A List of eight companies that was prepared by CDP for water management and security.

 

Colgate has received recognition for being one of the best companies on water security globally. It implements various practices in order to save water and manage it properly, and named as the 2015 CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project) Water A List – a list of exclusive international corporate leaders.

The multinational company is included in the top eight international organizations that made it to the list through attaining A grade for global water management. CDP is a global non-government organization that conducts tests and keeps a detailed data of water information for companies, which is requested by the investors. The information consists of 495 companies that are assessed and observed separately against CDP’s scoring standards and methods of conducting the required tests.

Experts and employees, who work at CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project), examine every company and rank accordingly. Head of Water at CDP, Cate Lamb, said, “The business case for action to improve water security has never been stronger or more urgent. For this reason, we congratulate those businesses that have achieved a position on CDP’s Water A List. These companies are responding to market demand for environmental accountability and at the same time are making progress towards the realization of sustainable economies.”

Colgate is keeping the environment in consideration and is evidently taking the required actions to protect it; other businesses should also follow and understand the global issue of water security. Colgate Palmolive has included water conservation in its business plan. Its goals for 2020 include the reduction of manufacturing water intensity to half, increase suppliers’ participation in the water stewardship program, create water preservation awareness to its customers around the globe, and bring back water in regions that have lost it.
