Samsung Dongle Now Offers Vehicles With Wireless Web Connectivity

Users can now enjoy Internet and LTE connection within their vehicles while traveling thanks to Samsung new Dongles.

The giant electronics manufacturer and distributor, Samsung Electronics Corporation Limited has managed to manufacture a dongle that will be providing wireless web connectivity to customers’ vehicles. LTE connectivity can enjoyed by customers from the comfort of their cars thanks to the South Korean tech company.

The Galaxy maker has created dongles which will be of great help for customers who have older cars who will now have the opportunity to enjoy the internet in their cars with the LTE connection that will be provided to them through this device. Auto connect dongle can be plugged into ones auto in the OBD II diagnostic port, which most of the vehicles contain, it is used for the monitoring of the drivers auto performance and its location and can be used for connectivity purposes too.

The maker of the best smartphones in the world is making these dongles with the hope that they will even help improve driving skills and give more fuel efficiency to cars through the provision of the latest connectivity technology. The dongle is packaged with an LTE modem, a GPS, a computer called Tizen and a WIFI hotspot. Samsung is planning to show it latest creation off at the Mobile Congress World, which is going to be held on Monday and last till Thursday situated in Barcelona.

 

Samsung will make this product available is in the second quarter of 2016, firstly in the United States through the carrier, AT&T and will give the speed of LTE once it is connected to the vehicle. The price of this dongle has not yet been made public neither is the service revealed as yet.

The OBD II of any vehicle is under the steering wheel of the car and is the best place to put in the dongle of Samsung once it has been purchased, it also supplies 12 volts of power and can be used to power other gadgets in the car. These ports are built in most of the cars we see today as the US made in mandatory in 1996 that all vehicles shall have this specific port, and the European Union introduced the technology in 2000. The product might be seen in the market sooner than we expected, the rumored month is by the end of June this year in US.

The dongle has better options than many other products in the market today, it has more features such as the ‘find my car’ facility, usage based insurance and even an emergency alerts which will automatically contact the family the driver in case if an accident takes place. It even has cloud based monitoring technology that will provide messages such as, ‘Check Engine’ if there is any problem with the vehicle.
